A coating of an inch of snow expected in Northern Virginia through Thursday morning has forecasters warning of slippery roads, including during the morning commute.

Federal government offices in the Washington metro are operating on a two-hour delay as several school systems in the region update their closing/delay plans:

Prince William County Public Schools will be closed Thursday, Jan. 4, due to expected inclement weather conditions in certain areas. Code red for employees. All school division activities including Professional Development sessions are cancelled. SACC will not open. Telework subject to policy.

All Manassas City Public Schools will be CLOSED, Thursday, Jan. 4, due to the winter weather conditions. CODE BLUE for employees. SAAC and all other activities are also cancelled.
